General Information About 2 Days of Extreme Adventure: Rafting on the Tenorio River (Class III & IV) & Cucaracho River (Class IV & IV+)

Experience the ultimate rafting adventure in Costa Rica with this exciting 2-day package that perfectly combines progression, adrenaline, and unforgettable scenery. This tour is designed to take you from an intermediate level to a more advanced rafting experience while exploring two of Guanacaste’s most thrilling rivers: the Tenorio River and the challenging Cucaracho River.

Begin your adventure with an exciting rafting experience on the Tenorio River, one of Costa Rica’s most iconic rivers, internationally recognized for its incredible combination of nature and fun.

Over approximately 12 kilometers, you will navigate more than 22 Class III–IV rapids, delivering an adrenaline-filled yet accessible experience perfect preparation for what lies ahead.

Along the way, you will stop enjoying a fresh fruit snack while taking in the abundant wildlife around you. Tropical birds, monkeys, and iguanas often accompany this journey through the lush rainforest.

The highlight of the day comes with the thrilling descent down “Cascabel Falls,” a 12-foot waterfall, creating a unique finale that makes this river truly unforgettable.

After the tour, return to our base to enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch. In the afternoon, the journey continues to Casona Lodge, where you can relax in a beautiful natural setting, enjoy time by the pool, have a delicious dinner, and prepare for the challenge of the next day.

The second day begins with a nutritious breakfast before heading to the impressive Cucaracho River, where the adventure reaches the next level.

Over approximately 18 kilometers, you will face an intense combination of Class III and IV+ rapids, with more than 70 rapids throughout the course, creating a nearly nonstop adventure. Here, adrenaline remains constant for more than 3 hours on the water, featuring more technical sections, demanding maneuvers, and a higher physical challenge.

Unlike the Tenorio River, the Cucaracho River offers a more remote, wild, and continuous environment, surrounded by jungle canyons and untouched nature ideal for those seeking a more intense and authentic adventure.

During the trip, you will enjoy a snack to recharge before continuing this challenging journey.

At the end of the experience, celebrate two unforgettable days of excitement, nature, and pure adrenaline with a well-deserved lunch.

If you’re ready for a true challenge on the water, the Tenorio River and Cucaracho River are waiting for you.
